Enjoy the Museum in a new way this summer with the Summer K-12 Self Tour Field Trips. Unlike our August-May field trips, summer field trips have been reimagined to allow groups to enjoy MAS the way you want. Can’t arrive by 10 A.M? No problem. Start your visit when you’re ready.

Still want to see our Live Animal Experiences and Planetarium Shows? No problem. Pick from a variety of our new show times and reserve seats ahead of time!

Summer Field Trips are available June and July on Tuesdays-Fridays.

What to Expect on Your Group Visit

Check-In

  • You may check in anytime between 10AM and 2:30PM. The Museum closes at 5PM. Please have a group representative visit the front desk to check in and provide final numbers before the group enters the Museum.
  • At check-in you will be asked to provide payment in one transaction (cash, card, or check). Please review the fee details below.
  • Please call the MAS if you are no longer visiting on the day you reserved for your group.

Programming

  • At the time of booking, you will select the date you wish to bring your group and the public programs you would like your group to attend:

  • Each program typically runs 30-40 minutes long.
  • Your group will receive reserved seating, if available, and you will be asked to be ready for the program at least 10 minutes prior to the start time. A staff member will assist you with seating. There is no late seating once the program has begun.
  • At check-in your group will also receive a guide with helpful information and tips about visiting the Museum and guidelines to be followed.
  • The MAS is ADA accessible.
  • Eating/drinking is not allowed inside the building.
  • There is no indoor eating space, however, we do offer an outdoor picnic area next to the caboose for eating lunch.
  • Your group is welcome to order food to be delivered to the front desk, however, a group representative must be at the desk to receive it.
  • You may choose to shop at the Museum Store during your visit. The store offers a wide range of items for all ages. There are budget friendly items available for as low as $3. We also offer a penny squishing machine next to the store. Please limit the store to 10 guests at a time.

Booking Your Group Visit

Booking

  • Book at least 5 business days before you would like to visit.
  • To begin the field trip booking process, fill out the field trip inquiry form at www.masmacon.org/educators/on-site-field-trips. The MAS Group Tour Coordinator will contact you with more information and booking instructions. Please check that all information on the inquiry form is correct before submitting to ensure a smooth booking process

Group Visit Requirements

  • Minimum group size is 10 guests.
  • Maximum group size is 80 guests.
  • One adult per every 10 children (ages 3-17) is required. Adults must be with their group at all times.

Fees*

  • Children (ages 3-17): $5/child
  • Adults: 1 FREE Adult/10 children
  • Additional Adults: $10/Adult

The Museum accepts payment before or on the day of your visit in the form of a check, cash, or card. A quote/invoice will be provided upon being approved for your field trip. You may request to update this one time before your visit. If needed, an invoice can be sent after your visit with the numbers you brought that day. Payment is due by the date of your visit. Please note that no refunds under the amount of $25 will be issued. Make arrangements to pay for all group members in one transaction to expedite the check-in process. Failing to do this may result in missed programming and you will no longer have reserved seating.
