Enjoy rotating displays in the hall gallery highlighting our Collections and celebrating Macon’s Bicentennial! As the only nationally accredited repository for objects of fine art and significant artifacts in the region, the MAS preserves thousands of valuable cultural objects. Ranging from modern masterpieces to recent works by emerging artists, the MAS Permanent Collection – acquired over 65 years – includes paintings, ceramics, textiles, and other fine works of art. Highlights include works by Louis C. Tiffany, plus a noteworthy representation of Southeastern folk pottery. The Museum’s Education Collection includes 10,000 cultural artifacts and scientific specimens ranging from Native American artifacts, rocks, minerals, and shells to butterflies, taxidermy animals, and fossils.
