Monumental mixed media textile installation

by Blake and Hannah March Sanders.

On display June 14 through October 5, 2024

The lasting viability of Earth and humanity’s threat to that vitality fuels the work of textile artists Blake and Hannah March Sanders. Through the monumental mixed media textile installation UNDONE, they explore human over-consumption, pollution, ecological waste and destruction. The installation’s improvisational crochet construction is inspired by Middle Georgia’s unique geological and economic history with references to the primordial inland sea, kaolin and timber industries, and the impact of creosote manufacturing. The vibrant work captures the complexity of our contemporary human experience with awareness of urgent environmental concerns. Public is invited to witness the installation process beginning June 11th.
