Untitled Self-Portrait: 3/4 View; William Segal; Oil on Canvas; 24x20"; A2021.2.1-17.
Immerse yourself in self-reflection. William Segal Immerse yourself in self-reflection. William Segal was a life-long seeker. He spent much of his time looking carefully at the world around him, where he was, what he saw, who mattered to him. From all this introspection and observation, we have tangible works of his efforts to find clarity to the mysteries of being alive in his unique time and place. #MASMacon #MoreAtMAS

Embark on an internal adventure of introspection, Embark on an internal adventure of introspection, meditation, and contemplation while looking carefully and thoughtfully at one’s own countenance. Self-portraits have been a popular artistic challenge for artists and seekers for eons. Join MAS Curator of Art, Kristy Edwards, each Monday for thirty minutes as she offers you meditations and exercises in self-awareness and discovery through the time-honored tradition of the self-portrait. Then work carefully in the privacy of your own home.

This event concurs with the showing of works by William Segal, who, for his whole lifetime, engaged in seeking clarity and stillness through spiritual study and painting. It’s all in the quiet, slow looking. Participants’ works will be invited to be shown alongside Segal’s in this group/community collaboration. Go to Upcoming Events in our bio. #MoreAtMAS #MASMacon
