Lunch and Learn: Flutes Around the World
In association with the Wild Music: Sounds & Songs of Life exhibition, Kelly Via, Adjunct Professor at Mercer University, will introduce flutes from many traditions and play excerpts of folk music showcasing some of the instruments.
In addition to Mercer, Kelly is currently teaching flute at Agnes Scott College, Carere Music, and the Atlanta Music Academy. He also directs the Mercer University and Atlanta Music Academy flute choirs and woodwind chamber ensembles at Agnes Scott College.
Kelly is also the piccoloist with the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra and Macon Symphony Orchestra. For many years he was principal flutist of the former Atlanta Pops Orchestra and he was a charter member of the Georgia Sinfonia.
$15 per person includes light lunch and drink; or
$5 for the lecture only.
